Atlus has confirmed that it’ll be bringing its well-regarded turn-based demonic RPG series, Shin Megami Tensei, to the Nintendo Switch. It unveiled our first look at the brand new Shin Megami Tensei V alongside a short teaser earlier this morning in a livestream.

The teaser trailer seems to be showing in-game footage from the game, and it looks like it’s set in current day Japan. Like the previous games in the series, players will go into battle against a number of demons who’ve come to wreak havoc on the world. Shin Megami Tensei has always been a bleak and bloody affair, so you should expect nothing less from this continuation of the series.

Shin Megami Tensei V was originally hinted at during Nintendo’s Switch reveal earlier on this year, and following the game’s official unveiling earlier it’s only been confirmed for the Nintendo console so far. Older entries in the series have appeared on non-Nintendo hardware, but with Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse having only appeared on 3DS, it’s possible that SMT V could be a Switch-only title, too.
