Frogwares has released a new trailer for Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, showing off detective gameplay from the upcoming adventure.

This prequel story sees the world-famous detective taking a trip to an exotic island in the Mediterranean to investigate the mystery surrounding the death of his own mother ten years prior. Naturally, this means Sherlock will be getting into plenty of scrapes but it also means a fair bit of detective work, which is the focus of the latest trailer.

You’ll be piecing together clues on the island and various crime scenes, of course. But you’ll also have to get to know the locals of the island to get more info. To help you with that, you’ll be able to take on a range of disguises. Different characters will react differently depending on how you dress. You’ll even be able to convince certain characters you’re someone else entirely, if it helps further chase down a lead.

However, as a younger Sherlock it’s entirely possible you’ll make an incorrect deduction. Frogwares doesn’t want you to see a Game Over screen, so you’ll have to live with the consequences of your choices. You’ll also have some freedom with what you do with the info once you get it. For example, you might even let a guilty party escape the long arm of the law if you feel they’ve been punished enough.

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One is set to land on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC on November 16. It’ll also come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date.
