Frogwares has announced its new game, with the code-name “Project Palianytsia,” with a full reveal on its way in summer.

Frogwares has describes the new game as a “mix of eldritch horror coupled with Victorian-era mystery.” This will appeal to those who enjoyed the studio’s last game, The Sinking City. That game was all about a detective investigating a serious of mysterious happenings in a fishy city. Literally. The city was full of fish men.

Communications Manager Sergey Oganesyan said, of the new game:

“We are revealing the game now in this way to simply show people we are pushing on and also as a clear middle finger to those who thought they could just roll into our country hoping to disrupt and ruin our lives.”

Oganesyan went on to explain that the title refers to a national Ukranian dish—a kind of bread. But that the words are very difficult for Russians to pronounce. “And so now it’s often used in the field as a test to quickly identify possible affiliation of unknown individuals.” In other words, it is a kind of Shibboleth.

We don’t know much else about this new game, and will have to await the full reveal in summer. Maybe it will turn out to be a sequel to The Sinking City.
