Frogwares has announced prequel detective adventure Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will land on new-gen consoles and PC this November.
You’ll join a young Sherlock Holmes ten years after the death of his mother. Rather than his traditional sidekick Watson, he’ll be joined by his friend known only as John. Set on the island of Cordona in the Mediterranean, you’ll explore an open world as you take on quests. Many of these will explain how he came in possession of some his iconic items such as his violin.
The Holmes mansion will also act as a home-base, which has become a little run down since Holmes’ mother’s passing. You’ll have to track down some of the missing items and restore the mansion to its former glory. We’re also given a glimpse at some of the game’s combat, which has been given an overhaul from The Sinking City. The game will also allow you to change the difficulty of combat and puzzles independently, if fighting isn’t your thing.
You can check out a new trailer, as well as a gameplay deep dive video down below. Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One launches on November 16 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. It’ll also be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a date for those two coming at a later time.
