Sharlto Copley, best known for his breakout role in District 9, will play the lead role in PlayStation’s Powers TV series, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Copley will play Christian Walker, a cop working in the Powers division of the police force investigating crimes committed by those with special abilities. The show has a 10 episode season order from Sony.

Jason Patric was originally cast for the role back when FX was developing the series.

Michelle Forbes (The Killing, True Blood) has also come on board as Retro Girl, described as the super star of the Powers community.

David Slade will direct the first two episodes of Powers with a December premier date on PSN scheduled.
