Shadowrun was the first title to use Microsoft’s LIVE service to enable PC and Xbox 360 gamers to play against one another. It was also a thoroughly enjoyable experience although its full retail price and lack of on-disc content made it a questionable purchase.

For reasons not yet revealed, although it seems likely poorer than hoped sales of Shadowrun are to blame, FASA Studio has now officially closed with many of the development team having secured positions working within Microsoft Game Studios.

It is my sad duty to announce that FASA Studio has officially closed its doors,” said studio manager Mitch Gitelman, via the developer’s community forums. “Today was the official last day of employment for those of us who had not moved on to other positions within Microsoft Game Studios.

This probably also spells an end for additional Shadowrun content which has thus far had three title updates created by the FASA team.
