The official Tomb Raider Twitter has announced that Eidos Montreal has wrapped development on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, with the game now officially gone gold.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider has gone gold! Lara’s defining moment is out of @EidosMontreal’s hard-working hands & on its way to manufacturing. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC/Steam on September 14. pic.twitter.com/6XTwzuMVnP

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is billed as the defining chapter in the rebooted treasure-pinching franchise, as heroine Lara Croft fully transitions into the titular Tomb Raider. The latest outing sees her on the hunt for a Mayan relic in Latin America, only to accidently set off an apocalyptic event. Whoops.
Hasn't Lara ever watched The Mummy Returns? Brendan Fraser's character clearly points out that nothing good ever comes from nicking ancient objects. She should have known better, really.
From the look of things, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is going to be a bit of a whopper in terms of size, with the Paititi world hub being the biggest the franchise has seen to date. Lara's also got a few new tricks up her sleeves, too.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is due out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on September 14.
