Square Enix kicked off its pre-recorded E3 showcase with a fresh look at Shadow of the Tomb Raider, offering a glimpse at how heroine Lara Croft can 'become one with the jungle' and blend in with her surroundings.

This basically involves getting a lot of mud all over Lara's clothes and skin, letting her sneak around the place and silently dispatch enemies. From the look of things, she's got access to a lot more melee attacks this time around.

That's not to say the nimble archaeologist isn't shy of making any noise; the end of the video shows her lobbing a petrol bomb at enemies, lighting them up like a Christmas Tree.

Apparently, the game's Challenge Tombs will be more deadly than ever before, which is great news, as those sequences were easily the best part of the previous Tomb Raider games.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is launching on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on September 14.
