Bluepoint Games has confirmed that the sumptuous-looking Shadow of the Colossus remake on PS4 will include a dedicated Photo Mode. This probably won’t come as much of a surprise seeing as how the game is packed full of stunning visual highlights, from the hulking Colossi themselves to eyeball-popping vistas.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Bluepoint’s art director, Mark Skelton, shared a couple of snazzy snaps from the feature before extolling the many finer points of the Photo Mode. One of the highlights he was keen to note is its power and flexibility, with players essentially having all the tools available to them as the development team.

Budding photographers will be able to tinker around with numerous options, including filters and colour balancing shadows, midtones, and highlights. If that wasn’t enough, the Photo Mode also lets you control the ‘depth of field range and amounts, in addition to the vignette.’

‘Adjusting the camera to get that perfect shot is super easy. Being able to switch the camera from the player to the horse offers up a ton of possibilities. Letting the team loose with it was incredible. The amount of different looks you can achieve is limitless,’ the post reads.

Finally, Shadow of the Colossus allows you to rotate the camera 90 degrees in either direction to let you grab those portrait-perfect shots for your mobile phone wallpapers. You can even leave some of the filter options on while you play the game to admire your work on the go.

Shadow of the Colossus is due for release on February 7.
