Codemasters has now officially announced that a port of the Amiga version of Sensible World of Soccer is in development for the Xbox 360. The game is scheduled to arrive in Q1 2007 and will feature full online play.

You can look forward to taking part in online friendlies, tournaments, and custom leagues all over Xbox Live. Offline play will also be packed full of game modes, including the classic twenty-season career mode.

Sensible World of Soccer for Xbox 360 Live Arcade will enable fans of the original and a new generation of gamers to experience a beautiful game that’s recognised as the classic Sensi title. Making use of Xbox Live for online multiplayer matches will take the SWOS experience to a whole new level of gameplay perfection,” said Nick Pili, Codemasters’ director of Casual Gaming.

In addition to new online modes, the Xbox 360 version will feature new visuals created for high definition displays. The game will also include the original visuals for those of you that require the authentic retro experience.
