Strangely the game is not planned for release on the Xbox, the platform the previous OutRun game was released on. The game will feature 30 stages, including the best of those found in OutRun2 and OutRun2 SP (the arcade version). There will be a new mission structure, license mode, six-player online racing, and twelve licensed Ferraris including the all-new F430 and the dazzling Superamerica.

Amazing Ferraris, incredible courses, beautiful girls – and all available on Sony’s PSP and PlayStation 2,” commented Matt Woodley, Creative Director of SEGA. “The only thing you’ll be asking for is another go!

Those who buy the PlayStation 2 and PSP versions will get some extra content by linking the two via a USB cable, but exactly what this extra content will be hasn’t been announced. OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast is currently in development at Sumo Digital (the guys behind the Xbox port of Outrun 2) and is scheduled for release in March 2006.
