Don’t expect a Swordfish style representation of hacking in upcoming connected video game Watch Dogs, with Ubisoft Montreal consulting with security firm Kaspersky Labs to ensure a level of realism.
“We’re working with Kaspersky Lab, a big security firm,” senior producer Dominic Guay told Joystiq during a San Francisco press event. “They have really hardcore experts there on hacking.
“We send them some of our designs and we ask them feedback on it, and it’s interesting to see what gets back. Sometimes they say, ‘Yeah, that’s possible, but change that word,’ or, ‘That’s not the way it works.'”
Watch Dogs is set for release November 22 on current gen platforms, and will also be available on day one for PS4. A next-gen Xbox version is also expected.
