Amazon’s Secret Level series was launched last week and it brought about numerous mini-episodes, all made by the creator of Love, Death, and Robots in association with popular game studios. While some episodes like Sifu’s were an ode to the iconic games, others caught viewers off guard.

One of those was the Pac-Man episode which was no lesser than a horror film. Since fans thought it would feature the iconic Pac-Man from the Bandai Namco game, a new announcement has finally explained everything you need to know about it.

Bandai Namco announced their next game called Shadow Labyrinth which is a “2D action platformer and a genre-twisting alternate take on the iconic PAC-MAN.”

According to the official trailer description, players will play as Swordsman No. 8. Awoken by a floating yellow orb, PUCK, on a mysterious planet amidst relics of wars past, you are chosen to become the instrument of its will. To survive, you will discover many secrets, consume your enemies, and grow from prey to the apex predator as you embrace your true purpose.

The trailer used similar graphics to the show, depicting an underworld and a much darker version of the Pac-Man world. While the episode was quite bizarre itself, haunting both fans of the franchise and viewers, the game’s trailer finally explains what was it all about – a twisted and bloodthirsty take on your classic game where there are no holds barred.

To those curious, the game will be launching in 2025 and will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on PC.
