Rare has launched a new update for PC and Xbox One plunder-’em-up Sea of Thieves, with update 1.0.2 applying some key changes for the action-adventure title.

Chiefly, the developer has been poking and prodding with ship respawn time, so that vessels now return from Davy Jones’ Locker out of sight from the ship that put them beneath the waves. The change comes from user feedback observing instances of stalemates at forts and ‘griefing’ behaviour.

Elsewhere, the update tweaks the Mermaid teleport feature so that players are now required to dump any treasure before seeing the ‘Teleport back to ship’ option. Apparently, players were losing treasure in the sea when using this feature before, so Rare decided to tweak it.

Finally, Sea of Thieves update 1.0.2 also applies a number of general bug fixes, so pop on over to the game’s official website for the full skinny. Sea of Thieves launched on March 20 and did well enough to become the fastest-selling new IP for the Xbox One to date.
