Rare has announced it’s raised anchor on The Shrouded Deep, the latest adventure for nautical pirate game Sea of Thieves.
The latest chapter in the game’s ongoing series of new monthly narrative quests sees pirates face off against a fearsome foe. Namely, they’ll be tasked with taking on the Shrouded Ghost – a mythical white megalodon. He’s swallowed a powerful artefact named the Veil of the Ancients, and you need to grab it before Captain Flameheart does.
In addition, the Shrouded Deep also serves as a prequel to the upcoming Legend of the Veil voyage. That’s a brand new three-chapter voyage for Pirate Legends also launching in today’s update. Those eligible to take it on (ie: Pirate Legends) will be able to embark on this epic quest with the Pirate Lord. Two of its three chapters are randomised too, with both puzzle and combat challenges on offer.
As a point of order, the new adventure won’t give out Shrouded Ghost Commendations. This is out of respect to players who’ve earned the accolades through wild encounters. However, those with the commendation will be able to net themselves a cool figurehead as a reward after the event.
