Saw fans rejoice! The bloody franchise is getting a brand new instalment next year with Kevin Greutert returning to the director’s chair, as reported in bloody-disgusting.com.

No stranger to either Saw fans or to the franchise itself, this will be Greutert’s third Saw film as Director, and his tenth as a crew member.

As in addition to this new instalment, he has also directed Saw VI (2009) and Saw: The Final Chapter (2010), as well as editing the first five Saw movies, and Jigsaw (2017). He then produced the the Saw spin-off, Spiral last year.

So it feels safe to say that the next instalment is in safe hands, and this is clearly how the movie’s producers, Mark Burg and Oren Koules, feel as they assured the franchise’s fans:

“We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love.

“And part of that is giving the reins to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, which is still one of the fans’ favorites in the entire series. More details will be revealed soon.”

Release date confirmed

The new movie is scheduled to release on October 27, 2023, as cited in the bloody-disgusting.com piece.

It will be the 10th movie in the franchise – and there are no details yet about who will be starring in the film.
