Nintendo, by way of the Smash Bros Dojo, has revealed an all-new game mode to be included in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii.

Spectator mode is a service where Nintendo will use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to send match data for games played between other people to every Super Smash Bros Brawl player.

Match selection will be automatic and no player names will be included in the match replay. Nintendo says it will feel like a continuous television broadcast of matches.

For extra interest players will be able to bet using coins on the character they think will win. Bet correctly and you’ll be rewarded with more coins. While watching Nintendo will also be dishing out new stickers to ensure everyone is having a good time.

Nintendo won’t be snooping on your matches uninvited though, with gamers required to allow spectators before the data will be sent out to Nintendo.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is expected for release across Europe in 2008. For more on the game including screens, previews and news, head over to its game page.
