Niantic Labs, developer of mobile hit Pokémon Go, has today announced that its game is the latest in a long line of titles that’ll see a festive-themed event in time for the holidays.

Santa Piakchu, who first showed up last year, makes a return and this time a bunch of Ice and Water type Pokémon from the Heonn region will make their first appearance to the game, joining those from Ruby and Sapphire added in the recent dynamic weather update.

Furthermore, the first Pokéstop you visit every day between tomorrow and December 25 will reward you with a one-use Egg Incubator with your first spin. The in-game shop will also be stocked with special holiday themed packages from December 22 to December 25 containing Super Incubators, Lure Modules, and the all-new Star Pieces, which earn bonus Stardust for 30 minutes when activated. Then, from the 25 December through to January 4 these will be replaced by a further set of packages containing Premium Raid Passes, Super Incubators, and Star Pieces.

The news follows yesterday’s update which added new AR+ features to the game, exclusive to iOS.
