Hope you’ve brought your waterproofs, because Niantic Labs has announced a bunch of new Pokémon have just been added to Pokémon Go along with a new dynamic weather system based on conditions in the real world.

As detailed on the Pokemon Go blog, this system will result not only in a visual change but also affect gameplay as certain Pokémon will be spotted more frequently during certain conditions according to their type, so for example water-type Pokémon are more inclined to appear when it’s raining. In addition, certain attack types will also get a boost, such as fire-based moves becoming more effective on sunny days.

To go with this addition, Niantic has added fifty new Heonn region Pokémon, meaning ‘Mon such as Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire can now be caught in game.

Pokémon Go is out now for Android and iOS.
