Three new Samsung Odyssey OLED gaming monitors have been announced by the South Korean manufacturer which are scheduled to debut at CES 2024 next week.

Announced on the Samsung Newsroom, the three new gaming monitors are the Odyssey OLED G9, Odyssey OLED G8, and the Odyssey OLED G6 which cover all conventional resolutions and form factors. This new line-up includes a refreshed 49-inch curved ultra-wide flagship as well as a dedicated 4K 16:9 flat model as well.

One feature that all three upcoming panels share is what Samsung describes as “OLED Glare-Free technology” to reduce light reflections and improve viewing angles. This panel tech provides superior blacks and more vivid colors to what you’ll typically see from IPS-bounded LCD panels. It’s been confirmed these gaming monitors will use VESA DisplayHDR 400, too.

What’s most exciting about the two new leading models here is the “Multi Control” functionality. This is claimed to be a new feature which will connect with some of the best phones and the best laptops made by Samsung. Connectivity is also improved through the Samsung Smart TV and Samsung Gaming Hub for streaming and cloud gaming as well as native support for PC and consoles.

The Samsung OLED G6 and OLED G8 models look to be a departure from the curved models we’ve typically seen from the brand. Slim 3.9mm bezels and a 3mm metal plate means these panels should blend in well to your setup. If you’re someone who has wanted something more traditional as opposed to be the best curved gaming monitors then these could be for you.

Time will tell whether the new Samsung Odyssey models will be considered some of the best gaming monitors on the market. We’ll be keeping you updated with all the key information you need to know until we get our hands on them for testing. Until then, we recommend checking out our picks for the best 1440p gaming monitors for our top picks in 2024.
