Bad news if you’re a fan of Saints Row the Third and IV’s custom character creations, as Deep Silver has announced that it’ll be shutting down the My Steelport functionality of the two games at the end of January.

Making the announcement on the Saints Row website, they note that they took the decision partially due to ‘a significant reduction in the numbers of players using these services’ in the four years since Saints Row IV’s release. Although it is worth pointing out it was released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 slightly more recently with Gat out of Hell in the Re-Elected pack.

Regardless, this shouldn’t effect creating your own creations in the game, but if you’ve had your eye on someone else’s facsimile of Hulk Hogan or just don’t have the time/patience to make your own multi-coloured monstrosity, you’ve got until January 31 to do it. It should also be noted that this will likely disable a couple of achievements and trophies for the game for sharing characters and screenshots.
