GSC Game World, its publishing division GSC World Publishing and Deep Silver have today announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky has gone gold and is set for an international release on September 5, 2008. The game had previously been scheduled for worldwide release on August 29, 2008.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a first-person shooter for PC based on a ‘what-if’ scenario of the second Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. Clear Sky is the official prequel to the mutated gem S.T.A.L.K.E.R. by the Ukraine-based GSC Game World studio.

The action takes place in 2011 and introduces an alternative look at the events of the original game.
