Eastasiasoft, a Hong Kong based publisher of interactive entertainment, has announced its side-scrolling shmup, Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer, is to be released on the PlayStation Network in North America in October 2008. Its release in other territories will follow shortly after.
As a bounty hunter piloting a mighty prototype star fighter, players must fight their way to the origins of a deadly virus to save civilization. Players will need to shoot their way through 12 stages set across four settings.
The game is already available for PC, but a host of new features and enhancements are promised for the PSN version. These include new background animations and effects, new enemies, an additional boss battle, new sound effects, rebalanced gameplay, DualShock 3 support and Trophies.
