As reported by THR, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is set to play an NPC in an upcoming sci-fi action comedy called Free Guy.
The movie centres on a character, Reynolds, who realises he's living in a video game and must stop the developers from shutting down the world.
Shawn Levy, who previously directed Night at the Museum and served as executive producer on Stranger Things, will act as director on the film, with Matt Lieberman penning the script.
It's not like video game movies are anything to write home about, so perhaps one not based on an actual game could be decent. Or it could be terrible. It's not like I've seen it. What do you want from me!?
We'll see how the Two Guys and a Girl actor will fare in this space (sort of) when we see what he's like as Pikachu, I guess.
