UK Developer Jagex, known largely for its work on the long-running free-to-play browser MMO RuneScape, has suspended development on its upcoming title Stellar Dawn.

The studio states it hopes to focus on the development of its upcoming Transformers MMO, alongside the continued development of RuneScape instead.

“Having paused all Stellar Dawn development, we have been able to reallocate all but 12 members of the team to our other development studios,” CEO Mark Gerhard said to Develop.

“It is very sad to lose any members of the team. We will naturally continue to support and help them during this difficult time and wish them every success in the future. The remaining team members have now all moved into their new roles.”

Transformers Universe, Jagex’s Transformers-based MMO, is scheduled to release this year. Earlier in 2011 users had an opportunity to name factions within the MMO.
