Frogster has announced that the commercial launch of Runes of Magic, the free-to-play online RPG, has exceeded all expectations. Nearly 700,000 players worldwide have registered to enter the fantasy world of Taborea.

To handle the rush of new players, the Runes of Magic team has activated an additional European server, meaning there are already nine game worlds up and running in German and English languages.

Although developed by Taiwanese studio Runewaker, Runes of Magic has been created according to western MMO standards, meaning it should be accessible to fans of World of Warcraft and other similar MMORPGs. Runewaker is also promising new challenges for players every four to five months with free add-ons and updates.
