Rising Star Games has announced Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon for release across Europe in September 2008. As the title suggests, Rune Factory is a fantastical take on classic Harvest Moon gameplay, including all the fundamentals such as growing crops, tending livestock, making friends and getting married.
The game begins with the player awakening in an unfamiliar village known as Karida and you have no memory of who you are and how you arrived in the village. A beautiful woman called Mist comes to your aid and offers you food and water in return for helping her farm her land. Despite your growing farming skills, there remains a thought that you were once a warrior more comfortable with a sword in your hand than a shovel.
Utilising your natural talent in combat you’ll have to battle your way through the local caves, ridding them of the monsters that hide deep within its passages. Deep within the caves hides the secret to unlocking your past.
In addition to a rich single-player experience, Rune Factory will feature Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support, enabling players to send e-mails, screenshots and messages to other players.
Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon is scheduled for release for Nintendo DS across Europe in September 2008.
