Prey may have been out for almost a year, but that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from churning this week pointing to the launch of downloadable content for the acclaimed shooter.

First up, the game’s Twitter account (via PST) posted a cryptic gif just before the weekend, along with the caption ‘do we really know what’s out there?’ This has set tongues wagging, with folk assuming it pertains to the lunar colony featured in the main game, as well as Transtar Corp, the rivals of Kasma Corp.

Speaking of Kasma Corp, someone has cobbled together a dedicated Twitter account for the organisation, which currently displays an image depicting how to harvest a Mimic. If that wasn’t enough, a Reddit thread has been busy deciphering binary code posted around in various messages, one of which apparently translates to ‘the moon is a harsh mistress.’

Nothing official has been confirmed yet, but it’s still pretty interesting stuff all the same. We’ll be sure to keep you posted.
