According to Kotaku, who recently spent some time with GTA4, Rockstar views the downloadable content coming to Xbox 360 as “an experiment”.
Although not directly stating as much, Kotaku notes that Rockstar “doesn’t seem sure that there are enough users with access to online content on the 360 to make it worthwhile for them to continue pumping out episodes”.
If viewed as an experiment it’s not unreasonable to assume that if the DLC is successful it could lead to further content being released at a later date – presumably on both Xbox 360 and PS3.
