Rockstar Games has announced that something related to Red Dead Redemption 2 will be shown at 4pm BST, September 28. As is Rockstar’s way, its announcement of this news is particularly vague, and it’s giving nothing away whatsoever.

The announcement uses the Red Dead Redemption colour scheme, and the same font. No prizes for guessing what it’ll be. In all likelihood, it’ll probably be a trailer for the game, and perhaps it’ll give us our first teaser of the game’s story.

It’s been an absolute age since we heard anything about the return of the western RPG. There was the expected no-show at E3 2017, and since then everything has been eerily quiet regarding the game’s progress — although there was that time everyone thought the screenshots from a Western MMO for PC was a RDR2 leak. If it’s anything like Grand Theft Auto V, it’ll have a huge focus on the online multiplayer experience, with plenty of opportunities for rogue bandits to run amok, and loads of wannabe Clint Eastwood’s putting the world to rights.

Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t have a release date just yet, but it’s due sometime in Spring 2018. So far it’s only been confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One, and there’s still no word on whether there’s a PC version in the works.
