Rising Thunder, a new free-to-play robot fighting game coming to PC, promises to eliminate special move input fluffing.

The online-focussed brawler is the brainchild of former Capcom community manager – and a major name in the world of fighting games – Seth Killian and Radiant Entertainment.

Killian says the game is built around three key principles: You won’t mess up your special move inputs, great online, and play as much as you want for free.

It’s the removal of input commands for special moves, replaced with single button presses, which separates Rising Thunder from the likes of Street Fighter, Tekken and Mortal Kombat. Once a special move is performed there will be a cool-off period, designed to prevent players from spamming these abilities.

You’ll be able to see what the game is like for yourself when the Technical Alpha starts on July 28 – you can sign up to take part here.
