After announcing plans to set a new world record for total number of in-game marriages on Valentine’s Day, RIFT has seen nearly 22,000 users get virtually married.
Exactly 21,879 users took the plunge, thereby putting RIFT into the Guinness Book of World Records for most game marriages in a 24-hour period.
The entry will be officially published in the 2013 edition of the annual book.
The tally has been made up of characters of any gender, class, and race, with users being rewarded for tying the knot with a RIFT Tier of Knots achievement.
