The open beta of free-to-play racer Ridge Racer Driftopia will finish in 60 days, Bandai Namco has announced.

This means that by August 15 all servers will be turned off and the game will no longer be in Early Access, says the publisher. The beta launched for Windows and PS3 in August 2013.

Bandai Namco also thanked the game’s players “for their permanent support and dedication” and noted that “all the feedbacks will be taken into account for the upcoming projects”.

This sounds like the game won’t return in a non-beta state, and is actually closing for good. We’ve reached out to Bandai Namco for clarification.
