At Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, industry veteran Tetsuya Mizuguchi revealed his new game, Children of Eden.

The conference opened with an energetic performance from Mizuguchi, the creator of Rez and Space Channel 5. Making full use of the Xbox 360’s Kinect technology, Mizuguchi played through a level of the game with nothing but his body.

The game appears to be a spiritual successor to Rez, with abstract visuals and 3D on-rails shooting that directly affects the beat and tempo of the music.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com after the conference, Mizuguchi revealed that although the game was built with Kinect technology in mind, the game can also be played with a standard controller.

“If you use Kinect, it’s totally different,” he said. “It’s a different feeling.”

No word on a release date at this time.
