Speaking at this year’s Develop conference in Brighton, illustrator and concept artist Iain McCraig – who is currently working on character designs for Respawn Entertainment’s first project – revealed that the game could be as far off as 2015.

The artist, whose previous work includes Terminator 2, Secret of Monkey Island, and Star Wars: Episode I (he designed the titular Phantom Menace), said that he is “having the most fun working with Respawn Entertainment right now, but I can’t show you, and I won’t be able to show you, until 2015.”

Clarifying his comments to GameSpot, McCraig added: “2015 was just my wildest guess as to when I would be able to show my artwork, which is usually 12 months or more after release. I have no real information on the release date of the game.”

Whatever the actual release date, it would seem that the game is still a long way off.

Respawn Entertainment, formed by former Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West, has revealed very little about its forthcoming game, to be published by EA. We do know, however, that it’ll be a ‘sci-fi orientated shooter’. We also have this blurry image to gleam information from – but it is indeed blurry, so good luck with that.
