Respawn Entertainment has given another of its regular developer updates over the weekend, and the developer has given some insight into how the popular battle royale shooter intends to deal with preventing cheating in the game, particularly after the launch of the recent ranked seasons playlist.

As Eurogamer spotted, Community Manager Jay Frechette took to Reddit to give a little visibility into how the developer is keeping an eye on cheaters, including using 'machine learning to create behavior models that detect and auto ban cheaters.' There's also enforcing Two Factor Authentication in certain regions on high risk accounts, as well as investigating how people party up with cheaters – noting that a player who intentionally parties up with a cheater in the hopes that they will carry them to a victory is also classed as cheating and will be dealt with in the same manner.

On top of all of this, Frechette notes how Apex Legends is actually working to matchmake known cheaters and spammers together, so they end up on the same server as each other, which seems like a pretty clever way to deal with the issue. Further in the Reddit thread, another developer confirms the intention to add 'cheating' to the reasons players can report another player for.

Apex Legends recently released Season Two of its Battle Pass content, along with new character Wattson on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
