Apex Legends Season Two is finally set to land this week, and it brings about it an overhaul of the Battle Pass system, which came under fire last time around for not providing enough ways for players to gain content. The answer? Challenges.

As detailed in a recent blog post by Respawn's Lead Product Manager Lee Horn, Season Two will see daily and weekly challenges added to the battle pass, that you'll be able to complete while hunting for that ever elusive victory. Respawn are claiming that the challenges will 'balance gameplay purity with variety and fun' and as such claim you won't need to visit walkthroughs or YouTube tutorials to complete each one.

Three daily challenges will be handed out to every player each day from a pool of 'about 200' and completing these will net you a new thing called 'STARS' which will contribute towards Battle Pass XP. Similarly, each week there'll be seven weekly challenges which will, naturally, take a little longer to complete and net you more STARS. If you come to the season late, that's fine; weekly challenges will roll over, so if you miss a week you'll still be able to complete them in subsequent weeks. Finally, a set of three 'resetting' challenges will also be available each week. These will remain the same throughout, but will  – as their name implies – reset every week, meaning you'll have to earn them within a week to reap their rewards.

Further details are available to read in the blog post – Season Two of Apex Legends, including new character Wattson, is set to go live tomorrow on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.
