Sony has showcased Resistance Burning Skies for the PlayStation Vita – a brand new game in the Resistance universe set before the events of Resistance 2. The game is in development at Nihilistic Software in collaboration with Insomniac, and stars a brand new hero: fire-fighter Tom Riley .
Burning Skies will include new and classic enemies, as well as new weapons. All the weapons use the Vita tech in their alternative fire modes, and touch buttons can be place on the screen. The Weapon Wheel from existing games can be driven by the touch screen.
A Context sensitive cover system was demonstrated, locking the player into position when behind cover.
