According to Japanese video game magazine Famitsu, Capcom is porting its Resident Evil prequel, Resident Evil Zero, to Wii.

Originally released on the GameCube, Resident Evil Zero is a prequel to the first Resident Evil title and follows Rebecca Chambers on the day preceding the Mansion incident.

Zero was also the last game in the Resident Evil series to feature the Resident Evil gameplay system, before switching to the over-the-shoulder gameplay seen in Resident Evil 4.

Famitsu says Capcom won’t be implementing any significant changes to the game, simply offering support for the Wii controllers. It’s worth noting the original GameCube version is fully compatible with the Wii.

We’ve asked for more info from Capcom, but they’re currently unable to comment.
