Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27. So far, we haven’t seen much of the game, although Capcom has confirmed the return of Resident Evil 4 protagonist, Leon Kennedy. While Leon was officially confirmed at the Game Awards in December 2025, a new NVIDIA trailer shows fresh snippets of gameplay featuring Requiem’s other protagonist, Grace Ashcroft.
The new trailer showcases the visual improvements of “path tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation” for PC players. These improvements include superior ray tracing, providing ultra-realistic reflections and lighting. There’s also significantly better FPS, including 197 FPS as Grace walks through a rain-soaked city, and over 300 FPS as Grace is chased by the Resident Evil series’ newest stalker introduced at Gamescom 2025.
Grace Ashcroft is an entirely new playable character, and she’s an FBI analyst who is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a playable character in Resident Evil Outbreak from 2003. Capcom has informed fans that the playtime for Grace and Leon is almost equal, with Grace’s gameplay emulating old-school survival horror, similar to Resident Evil 2, whereas Leon’s gameplay is more action-oriented, akin to Resident Evil 4.
Leon is a fan-favorite recurring protagonist who debuted in 1998 for RE2 as a rookie cop, grew into a wisecracking action hero for RE4, and was last seen in RE6. Capcom has teased more returning characters beyond Leon, but the developer insists that Leon and Grace are the only playable heroes.
Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Although the NVIDIA trailer mostly shows third-person gameplay, you will be able to freely switch between first and third-person to experience new perspectives.
