Critically panned Resident Evil spin-off, Operation Raccoon City, is estimated to have sold around two million copies, according to Capcom figures.

The publisher’s financial results reveal sales of 1.7 million copies as of March 31, 2012, which doesn’t include any sales from Japan. We know the game launched with 269,000 copies over in Japan, plus additional weeks on sale worldwide means the two million mark must have been passed by now.

Capcom has also confirmed sales of 1.4 million for Street Fighter X Tekken and 1.6 million copies for Monster Hunter Tri G for 3DS (only on sale in Japan).

However, Capcom’s net sales were down 16 per cent year-on-year, but the publisher remains hopeful thanks to a release slate which includes Resident Evil 6.
