Capcom’s Resident Evil HD Remaster has sold over one million units worldwide, a feat the publisher is extremely pleased with for a remaster release.

The publisher noted that the one million figure is a “remarkably high volume for a remastered title”.

Capcom added that the “digital download version has made a particularly significant contribution to the strong sales of Resident Evil”.

The game previously set a new record for the biggest selling day one digital title on PSN and is Capcom’s fastest selling digital game across Europe and North America.

As of March 31, 2015 the Resident Evil franchise has sold 65 million units since the launch of the first title back in 1996.

Come on Capcom, where’s Resident Evil 2 HD Remaster?
