The Nintendo DS version of Resident Evil is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series and looks to be a remake of the first game. This DS version is called Biohazard: Deadly Silence, in an ever so clever use of the acronym DS. From the screens featured in Famitsu magazine the graphics appear to have lost the pre-rendered backgrounds, with full 3D environments taking their place. The screens also show a first-person mode where you can use a knife to slash the zombies. We think that players will have to use the touch-screen to mimic the slashing action in order to attack.

The screens also suggest that the DS’ touch-screen becomes covered in blood which must be cleared using your finger. Graphically the game looks a little ropey, but it’s hard to tell having not seen the game in motion. The new gameplay ideas sound interesting and we’ll bring you more on the game when we get it.
