Resident Evil: Deadly Silence is a remake of the first game in the Resident Evil series, but reinvented with the DS control system in mind to create an all new gameplay experience. The game will make use of the DS’s dual screens, stylus and even the microphone.

You’ll be able to keep your inventory/map on one screen, whilst the action unravels on the other. Combat will also be tweaked for the DS with the stylus being used to slash zombies with a knife, and if a zombie happens to get too friendly and moves in for a hug, you can shake it off by rubbing the touch screen. The mic will be used to solve puzzles throughout the game with plenty of blowing action required.

Rather excitingly, Resident Evil: Deadly Silence will include some multiplayer game modes. There will be a four-player vs. mode where we assume you’ll be hunting down other players, but we are not sure if this is human on human action or possibly human Vs. zombie. There is also a cooperative mode where you must work together with a friend to escape the zombie infested mansion.

There is no word on a European release just yet, but we can expect it some time after the North American release.
