Fresh Resident Evil 9 Leon leaks have teased vehicular gameplay and more ahead of a supposed reveal at Tokyo Game Show. RE9 is one of the most anticipated games next year not named GTA 6, and it stars newcomer Grace with multiple characters from the past teased to be making an appearance. Resident Evil games have often featured multiple playable characters, and leaks have insisted since day one that Leon is the second playable protagonist of RE9. Capcom haven’t confirmed anything yet, but fresh leaks suggest all will be unveiled soon at TGS.

Resident Evil 9 Leon leaks report vehicular gameplay

According to prominent Resident Evil leaker, Dusk Golem, as relayed to by YouTuber, Residence of Evil, Leon in RE9 will be clean shaven and have greying hair. Gameplay sections for him will supposedly take place in 2020 compared to Grace who is set in 2028. Leon’s date of birth in RE is 1977, so 2020 would place him around 42/43 years old, and in 2028 he’d roughly be 51.

Aside from being clean shaven and having greys in his hair, Leon will sport a black jacket. He will also not be wearing an eye patch unlike reportedly fake concept art has purported to show.

Beyond just his looks and timeline differences, Leon’s gameplay will supposedly be action but still more horror oriented than RE4. According to Residence of Evil, Dusk told them that his gameplay takes place in larger open sections, but not open world. In at least one chapter, Leon will use a vehicle to traverse around the environment, similar to the boat in Resident Evil 4.

Lastly, it’s suggested Leon will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show along with pre-order bonuses for the game. PlayStation/Sony Japan are holding a panel dedicated to Resident Evil Requiem on September 27th/28th, so that would be when to expect the reveal of Leon if it happens as rumored.

While switching between Leon and Grace is nothing but rumors right now, what is official is that you will be able to switch between first and third-person gameplay at your leisure. There was a demo of RE9 at Gamescom, and this showed huge differences in gameplay between first and third-person perspective.

As for the future of Resident Evil after RE9, leaks suggest fans can expect more remakes, but it will be Code Veronica and RE0 next instead of RE5.
