Resident Evil 6 sells 670,000 copies at launch in Japan

Capcom’s Resident Evil 6 has sold a huge 634,933 copies on PS3 at launch in Japan, according to data released by Media Create (via NeoGAF).

Add on the Xbox 360 version’s 41,652 copies and that’s a mammoth 676,585 copies, more than the first week Resi 5 sales of 644,381 copies.

Resi 6 trounced the competition, easily outpacing Konami’s Winning Eleven 2013 which managed a healthy 223,884 copies. Codemasters’ F1 2012 was new at No.9 with 14,454 copies sold.
