Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 has sold in excess of 500,000 units in the US. The one time GameCube exclusive title has been on sale in the US since January 11th 2005 and has performed well despite the game’s M for Mature rating.

In April Nintendo Europe and Capcom announced that the game had sold over 200,000 copies in Europe. Europeans had to wait until March 18th 2005 to get their hands on the game and then had to suffer numerous stock shortages.

A PlayStation 2 version of the game is due this October and reports from this year’s E3 suggest that the port is going well. You can check out our review of the GameCube version for more details on the game.
