Capcom has revealed that the 1-shot demo for Resident Evil 2 has been a pretty big success so far, drumming up over one million players worldwide since its launch on Friday.

The completion ratio however stands at around 28% complete, so it's fair to say that people are having a hard time cracking the teaser within the 30-minute time limit. Speaking of which, sneaky folk have already found a way to circumvent the counter on PC, allowing you to freely play the game beyond its half-hour limit.

Resi 2's demo gives you access to the Raccoon Police Department, where you can nose around its blood-drenched corridors and trashed offices, solve a few puzzles, and shoot some zombified cops.

Capcom will launch Resident Evil 2 on January 25 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The game is a full remake of 1998's seminal survival horror title, featuring a new behind-the-shoulder viewpoint and extra locations not seen in the original.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis could be the next game in line for a remake, if the latest murmurs are to be believed.
