Resident Evil 2 remake eschews the static camera of the 1998 original in favour of an over-the-shoulder view, but that hasn't stopped modders from fiddling around with the game to recreate those classic perspectives.

Enveloping Sounds have created a test video showing how Resi 2 would look with fixed camera angles, and the results are impressive to say the least. However, they note that the general darkness of the remake means that having the full game run this way wouldn't be a walk in the park.

'The near pitch black lighting in certain areas of the police station was designed with the over-the-shoulder view and flashlight in mind. Much of the environmental detail simply isn't visible [with fixed cameras], so you'd have to add tons of light sources around all the blacked-out areas.'

The old Resi games utilised pre-rendered environments, which change perspective at set intervals as your character moves through each location. As such, you moved like a tank, hence the term 'tank controls.'

Resident Evil 2 is out now for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and is one of the best horror games money can buy
