While Resident Evil 3 was officially revealed and announced earlier this week, it seems Capcom aren't willing to just sit on the announcement until the game releases in April as a couple of interesting updates have emerged for the previous game – Resident Evil 2.
As spotted by various users on Resetera, a new achievement was quietly added to the Resident Evil 2 via Steam with placeholder art and text until, of course, Tuesday's announcement when it changed to 'Chasing Jill' with the description 'Read a Letter Left Behind by Jill'. The intrigue deepend when this achievement also started appearing for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. (via Xbox Achievements)
And now in a further development, a 'new' Resident Evil 2 'R.P.D. Demo' appears to have gone live on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Early reports (again, via users on Resetera) suggest the demo is the same as the previous '1-Shot Demo' that came out before the game's release, but with the time limit and one-attempt restrictions turned off – although the menu now shows Jill and Carlos.
Capcom have stayed pretty hush right now if this will indeed see some more content come to Resident Evil 2 before Resident Evil 3's release on April 3 alongside Resident Evil: Resistance, but with The Game Awards taking place tonight, it's possible we'll hear more then.
